I was born in Somerville, New Jersey and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. Ever since I was young, I have been interested in all sciences. I was raised with a strong science background from my parents who always encouraged me to explore my outdoor surroundings to learn more about the different environments I was growing up in. My love for science grew over years of taking classes, watching documentaries, and joining various clubs, but it was not until my last couple years of high school when I really discovered my passion for biology and chemistry. I am currently a junior pursuing a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Biology, Spanish, and Animal Science. I am a pre-veterinary student hoping to earn my DVM and work as a Conservation Veterinarian. In Dr. Carpi’s lab, I will be working alongside the other members of the lab on many different projects, and I hope to develop a stronger understanding of genetics, epidemiology and disease transmission to better support my fellow lab members and to prepare me for a future of conservation work. In my free time I enjoy working on projects as a Vice President for Purdue Dance Marathon, spending time at the veterinary hospital, hanging out with my dogs, hammocking, and skateboarding with my friends!
